Gerry Adams visits Boston.
1994
Adams, leader of Sinn Fein, the Irish Revolutionary Army’s political wing, makes his first visit to Boston. A reception for Adams is held at the Park Plaza Hotel. He returns to Boston to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast in 2010, where he declares, “We would not have all of the progress we’re making back home if it were not for the encouragement, assistance, and support of people here.”
